Reay Meadal

The Reay Medal saw a number of low scores recorded with players enjoying the bright and calm conditions. Topping the leaderboard following a magnificent nett 62 was Pete McCartney. A solid outward half of 40 provided the foundation for his round, but he upped the tempo during an inward 36 which comprised 8 pars and a solitary bogey at the 10th hole. As well as the silverware, McCartney secured a well-deserved handicap reduction for his efforts.

Taking second place on countback following a nett 66 was Simon Harper who has enjoyed an excellent end to the season. His gross score of 73 was made up of two steady halves of 36 and 37, with birdies at the 6th and 14th holes providing the highlights of his round.

Lee Parnell took third place after carding a nett 66, and he also had the distinction of recording the lowest gross score of the day, a 71. An outward half of 34, which included a birdie at the 9th hole, was followed by a 37 on the inward nine. A further two players carded nett scores below 70, Andy Bain and Murray McGlasson, who both scored nett 68.
