On Saturday players braved the strong winds and squally showers to contest the September Medal.
The difficult conditions meant low scores were at a premium and this was reflected in the CSS which rose to 70. Head and shoulders above the rest in Category One was Stuart Grieg after a tremendous nett 65. Grieg’s gross score of 76 was the best of the day and he also secured a well-deserved handicap reduction for his efforts. Taking second place in Category One following a nett 69 was Sandy Chisholm. Chisholm has shown himself to be something of a foul-weather specialist in recent weeks and he will be relishing the approaching winter season. Bob Earnshaw took the final podium place in Category One following a nett 72.

Category Two was more closely run affair with a single shot separating two of the in-form players at the club Tim Hawes and Willie Allan. Hawes just edged it after a fine nett 70. Leslie Malcolm took third spot.
