The Ward Trophy and High Handicap, both Stableford events,
were played in tough conditions with frequent blustery showers making scoring
difficult. The Ward Trophy for players with handicaps from 0 to 12 was bagged
by McGlasson with a haul of 35 points. His round of 78 included nine pars and
nine bogeys. Taking second place on countback after also amassing 35 points was
Bain, the highlight of his round being a fine birdie at the 10th hole. Alistair
Gunn and his son Gavin finished a point off the pace after both recorded
tallies of 34 points.
