Ward Trophy and High Handicap

The Ward Trophy and High Handicap, both Stableford events, were played in tough conditions with frequent blustery showers making scoring difficult. The Ward Trophy for players with handicaps from 0 to 12 was bagged by McGlasson with a haul of 35 points. His round of 78 included nine pars and nine bogeys. Taking second place on countback after also amassing 35 points was Bain, the highlight of his round being a fine birdie at the 10th hole. Alistair Gunn and his son Gavin finished a point off the pace after both recorded tallies of 34 points.

In the High Handicap competition for players with handicaps of 13 and above, Ross Mackay took the glory after an excellent round which gave him a total of 40 points. A shaky start was soon forgotten and an excellent second nine gave him the win by a margin of 5 points ahead of Fraser Organ who amassed 35 points. Ian Sutherland took third spot on 34, with Tim Hawes fourth on 33.
